Former NFL head coach Tony Dungy is one of the most publicly anti-gay figures in sports. And on Wednesday, he carried that reputation forward with a relatable message on social media.
NFL Broadcaster Pushed a False Story to Protest the Recent Push for a Pro-LGBTQ Bill.
“It’s nothing. Some school districts are putting litter boxes in school bathrooms for students who are identified as having cats. It’s very important to meet the needs of every student,” Dungy Wrote on Twitter.
This tweet is not only problematic, but also blatantly false. The NFL world took to Twitter to criticize Dungy for this message.
One fan wrote, ‘I am so sorry for you.
“You straight up look like a monster dude,” said another.
“It’s so thoroughly debunked that you look even more pathetic than usual, you horrible, horrible fanatic,” said another.
“Dude being the announcer isn’t just bad? Shocker!” wrote another.

It’s been a tough week for Dungy. This past weekend, NFL World crushed them for their poor performance as the play-by-play man for NBC during the wild card matchup between Jacksonville and Los Angeles.
