It hasn’t been a fun Monday night for Tom Brady.
The legendary quarterback and Bucs offense has been completely shut down by the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas leads Tampa Bay 24-6 after three quarters of tonight’s NFC Wild Card game.
As frustrating as Brady is likely to be, that doesn’t excuse what appeared to be a non-sportsmanlike effort on his part during the third quarter. This occurred when Cowboys safety Malik Hooker picked up on what was a Chris Godwin fumble at the time and began weaving his way toward the end zone.
Instead of trying to get out of the way or tackle Hooker normally, Brady barges in, spikes And Dallas appeared to try and trip the DB.
“What’s Tom Brady doing?” Surprised on the official account of The Dan Le Batard Show.
“There could be a fine for that guy,” said Charles McDonald of Yahoo Sports.
“Tom Brady here with some Mac Jones level BS,” said FS1’s Nick Wright.
“Following VAR review, Tom Brady is given a straight red card for a forward tackle,” the Sikos committee said.
“Dirty play by Tom Brady,” added former Cowboys wide receiver Jesse Holley.
It’s possible that Brady didn’t mean it at all, and it was just a result of him being weird.
However, it certainly looked like he was trying to take down Hooker any way he could, and that included trying to trap him.
We’ll see if the NFL makes Brady any pay this week.
