Not long ago, the Marlins and Twins agreed to a trade with this past season’s American League batting champion.
According to Jeff Passon of ESPN, The Twins traded All-Star second baseman Luis Arrez to the Marlins in exchange for right-hander Pablo López.
The deal is reportedly done between the Marlins and the Twins. Additional players are expected to join the trade.
We would imagine the Marlins would give up a few more assets to acquire Arraz.
Arraez finished the 2022 season with a .316 batting average, eight home runs, and 49 RBI.
Meanwhile, López made 32 starts for the Marlins last year. He finished the season with a 3.75 ERA and a 10–10 record.
At 26, Lopez is an intriguing talent who will solidify Minnesota’s starting rotation. However, leaving out a player like Arrez is going to sting a bit.
We will find out who won this trade in the next session.
