The Kansas City Chiefs faced a scare this afternoon when star quarterback Patrick Mahomes left today’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mahomes was attempting to escape the Jaguar mob when he was tackled from behind. His right leg was stuck in an awkward position, leading to an unfortunate injury.
After taking a few minutes to review the footage, some fans think Jaguars pass rusher Arden Key was meant to injure the star quarterback.
“Wasn’t even trying to take and tackle, fell straight down to leg,” Warren Sharp pointed out,
Another fan said, “Arden looks like the ball is coming out and still takes his full weight on Mahomes’ ankle. Plays like this decide seasons. No fouls are called.” The stars of the game need to be protected better.”
Others think it was an unintentional play.
One fan said, “Arden Key inadvertently turned the NFL playoffs on its head.”
Mahomes spent the last Chiefs drive on the sideline while backup quarterback Chad Henne led the team to a touchdown. The Chiefs announced that Mahomes was officially questionable to return with an ankle injury.
What do you think about drama?
