There is one game remaining in the NFL’s Wild Card Round, as the Dallas Cowboys are set to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night.
The winner of this game will face the San Francisco 49ers on the road late Sunday night. The 49ers are coming off a win over the Seahawks on Saturday afternoon.
Many in the NFL world feel that the Cowboys and Buccaneers are getting the short end of the stick.
“It doesn’t seem entirely fair that the winner of the Cowboys/Bucks play on Monday night would go up against the #49ers, who played early on Saturday and received 2+ extra days of rest with more time to prepare. This is a Competitive is the disadvantage. This is the playoffs, not the regular season,” tweeted Dov Kleiman.
“It’s not about seeding. There are 6 games total in the wildcard round, all should have been played on a Saturday/Sunday. Why have the game on Monday Night Football? Completely unnecessary and preventing MNF playing teams from moving on to the next Hurts. Goal.”
This is a fair point.
One fan joked, “Look it’s a fair point, but it’ll be a cold day in hell before I sympathize with the Dallas Cowboys or Brady Bucs.”
“I agree, I was wondering why they have Monday night games,” said one fan.
Another fan wrote, “Understandable argument but the Rams played on Monday and won the Super Bowl.”
One fan said, “It’s totally not fair that the Jags/Giants, who played football this week, would play the Chiefs and Eagles, respectively, who had the entire week off. It’s a competitive disadvantage. It’s the playoffs, not the regular season.” No.” ,
The Cowboys and Bucs are set to start at 8:15 ET
The game will air on ESPN.
