Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy will return for the 2023 season.
The Cowboys fell to the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round on Sunday. After the game, Jerry Jones announced that McCarthy would return.
Jones told reporters with the Cowboys that McCarthy was still “safe” after the loss.
McCarthy has won 12 games in back-to-back years, but also lost to the 49ers in two straight postseasons.
“People have this vision of Jerry Jones as this cutthroat boss who doesn’t accept any failure, but as far as I remember he was never that. And people don’t trust him here. Will, but you gotta trust him when he says he’s not going to get rid of McCarthy,” wrote one fan.
One fan said, “Mike was fine this season..12 wins and a playoff win..fingered at 4 in the league this QB gave him enough.”
“Statements like this are why Packers fans (and, I’m guessing, fans of most NFC teams) wish Mr. Jones a long and happy life!” A fan has been added.
Another fan wrote, ‘Okay…’.

The Cowboys finish the year without an NFC Championship Game berth, as it has been over 20 years since they got there.
