Earlier this week, LSU gymnast Olivia Dunn made a concerning admission about her social media following.
During a recent interview with the Today Show, Dunn was asked if he had ever received threatening comments from fans. She acknowledged receiving “concerning” messages from some male followers.
“Yeah, there are some people who occasionally reach out and it’s a little worrying,” Dunn said. Some argue that the nature of her social media posts warrants this kind of attention, but Dunn had a quick response.
She added, “As a woman you are not responsible for how a man views you and objectifies you. It is not a woman’s responsibility.”
The sports world took to social media to react to his latest interview.
Some are supporting him.
“young Entrepreneur!” said a fan,
“Livi posts on social media because she likes it, not for the money. She can’t control how her fans act. What has Livi done for all the hate she’s getting?” another asked.
Others feel that Dunn is at fault.
One person said, “He started focusing on social media blitz for money. It is affecting the whole team. Your actions have consequences.”
What do you think of his comments?
