The Pittsburgh Steelers will not make any changes as offensive coordinator next season.
According to Gerry Dulack of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Matt will return to Canada. 2023 seasonWhich is the last year of his contract.
“Despite the public outcry and numerous rumors about his coaching position, the Canadian will return for his third season as offensive coordinator – something, apparently, that was never really in doubt, on offense after the season. Continued to show signs of improvement of late. Dulac wrote,
It’s not a surprising decision from head coach Mike Tomlin. The Steelers rarely fire coaches and instead replace them before their contracts expire.
That said, there’s no excuse for not going to Canada next season. They have great talent surrounding them in the form of quarterback Kenny Pickett, Najee Harris, tight end Pat Freermuth, and wide receivers George Pickens and Dionne Johnson.
It’s time to mix those ingredients together to create one of the better offenses in football.
If there are no positive changes, there is a good chance that he will not return after the next season.
